In a natural environment, you naturally start with at least one language, in this case German, which can therefore be classified as mothertongue. Language proficiency in English was acquired abroad during High School attendance in the US and university enrollment in Great Britain. Six years of studying French have left a very good knowledge while a short time studying Spanish resulted in rather basic knowledge.
Current endeavours include the study of Turkish and Chinese.
First linguistic encounters while approaching the BA (Hons) in Creative Writing and Film Studies have led to the study of German and English linguistics at Humboldt-University Berlin. The position as student assistent at the chair of general German linguistics and syntax at Humboldt-University Berlin adds different hands-on experience. Previous projects include comparative studies on information structure in Cabécar, English and Turkish as well as assistence for the experiencer project. This required knowledge about the following software: ELAN, TS Corpus, Excel VBA.
